District Convention
Hello Advisors,
As you know District Convention is coming up on March 7th! You and your council are cordially invited to attend the Kickapoo District Association of Student Councils’ forty-fifth annual District Convention. All of the applications are included in this packet. There are also electronic copies. Once your students have filled out the applications and received the proper signatures the finished applications can be mailed to Shiloh or scanned then faxed/emailed. We do ask that registration for convention be completed by using the Google form if at all possible. All applications are due February 12th. Please make sure you get all applications in by the 12th.
District Convention is being held at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, IL. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and adjournment will be around 2:00 p.m. There will be a small snack provided as you arrive and get registered. We are having a pasta feast for lunch. Our theme is “Agents In Disguise”. To go along with this theme we would love for you and your students to wear red and black. You don’t have to, but it is an option. We will also have a photo booth so bring those picture perfect smiles. There is a small coffee shop in the lobby with all sorts of amazing drinks to choose from that you and your students can purchase before or after the event. The convention will include proposed amendments to the KDASC Constitution, election of the new KDASC executive board, and discussion groups and hall of ideas on various topics. The cost to attend the district convention is $30 per person.
Enclosed are applications and forms for:
At District Convention we will be collecting tie blankets for the Mills cancer patients. These blankets often comfort the patients as they are going through their treatments. These blankets should be big enough that they will work as a throw for the patients. Please help by making tie blankets for this wonderful cause! A representative from Mills will be at convention to accept our donations.
